Organized religion. The form of much distress and disappointment for many who have not found a place of grace and acceptance in the church.
The body of Christ, the church, is a tangled mix of gifts, talents, personalities, hopes, goals, and visions. St. Paul describes and wrestles with this community in his letters and when he uses the metaphor of the body to describe the church; and still a more excellent way is shared. A community organized around the love of God.
We have organized this community in such a way as to lend greater honor to the lesser parts of the body. This means that the strong carry the weak, the voice of the least is listened to, and all come to serve the body in some way.
Church Council - this is the elected governing body of the congregation. They meet monthly during the fall, winter, and spring quarters to manage the administrative life of the congregation. They retreat to plan and discuss the vision and mission of the congregation.
Ministry committees - these groups form to serve needs in our community and make decisions about resources. There are many ministry committees and they come and go as the needs of the congregation change. Some of the committees currently serving are:
