A central focus of a life of faith, and the teachings of Jesus Christ, is that God has compassion for the have-nots and oppressed of this world, and God requires humankind to reflect that compassion. The purpose of the Social Ministry Committee is to encourage and facilitate the giving of compassionate aid to our neighbors in need, both locally and throughout the world.
Currently the Social Ministry Committee works with congregational members to facilitate their assistance and support for:
Adopt a Yolo County Social Worker
St. John’s Shelter for Women and Children in Sacramento
STEAC (Short Term Emergency Assistance Committee)
Habitat for Humanity of Yolo County
Picnic Day Barbecue (support for a local agency selected each year)
